91 awd turbo only running on 3 cylinders

i know i it sounds like i could find this answer in the search but i couldnt the problem is its not any particular cylinder that wont work its just when all 4 injectors are plugged in it stalls but will run on any variation of three cylinders i am new to the turbo talon havent even got to drive it yet so i dont know what to expect or much about them but i would say i am mechanically inclined enough to fix this if i had an idea of the problem now for the things i tried

also when it is started the dash lights up funny only part of it lights up some dummy lights come on just doesnt make any sense to anybody i kow who has ever worked on cars

injectors
ecu
coil
plugs
main computer
and some various sensors

any help would be greatly appreciated thank

and since i am the new guy i would like to say hi to everyone
 
Welcome to tuners . First off you should fill out your profile . List any and all mods . Do you have a check engine light ? Compression test ? Which three cylinders ? Have you change anything ? Replaced plugs , wires ?
 
no mods

it will run on any 3 cylinders i pick as soon as i plug in the 4th injector it shut down

as long as i leave 1 unplugged it runs no matter which 1 it is
 
Any check engine light ? A friend with a logger to read error codes ? Try to post in your region to see if a member is local enough to help out .
 
almost the whole dash lights up anybody have any ideas at all if not i think im just going to unload this thing as it sits i have another ecu on the way hoping that i got a bad one or the wrong one

Having all the dash lights on sounds like an alternator but that wouldn't have anything to do with the engine firing or running on 3 cyclinders I don't think? Do you have to jump the car?
 
Could very well be the ECU itself. Mine developed a hairline crack on one of the traces off the processor which produced odd results and numerous CELs. Could be that, another short or the injector driver may be bad.

I'd also replace the ECU with a known good one just to eliminate that as a possibility.

BTW, Check out Steve's site for an ECU PN Cross-Reference

May want to check to see if a previous owner had wired anything (turbo timer, AFC..etc) into the ECU harness that may be shorting :dsm:
