Hey there,

I have a 95 GST Eclipse that has 93xxx mile on it. It has started acting up as of about 3 weeks ago.

To start, its main problem would be idling. It wouild idle at about 500 at one red light, then the next one it would idle at about 2700 rpm. Almost sounded like it was ready to take off at any time.

Then, it would stall when I would push the clutch it when comming to a red light. The worst would be when you have the clutch in to downshift to second to take a corner... and the car shuts off while you are tring to eat a sandwich, one hand on the wheel and no power steering. Thankfully no one was in the other lane.

Now I have started to notice when this was starting to happen, When I would step on it bring it in to boost, it felt like the turbo would lag, then when the boost would rise... it owuld start chugging. (had the same problem when i blew an altenator)

Now, I was out of town for the week with my car, then the worse part happens. The stalling and idleing hasnt been a huge issue. It will idle at a steady 800-1k. But now, first gear is fine. Second-fourth is more like a constant feeling like the car is chugging and struggling to go forward. Fifth is fine but at about 120-130km/h the car shakes, but above 130 is ok.

Also the check engine light came on just the chuggin started to happen.

If anyone has any suggestion or needs to know anything else to help me figure out what is wrong please let me know and ill do my best.
 
The best thing you can do right now is go to an auto parts store and have your CEL code read. It doesn't cost anything, and it will point you in the right direction faster than any of our speculation can. If you still need help, come back with the code and we can go from there.
 
^^^^ agreed. The CEL will reveal a problem that will potentially help us give you a solution.

However, if you want to check it out, I'd boost leak test and change the fuel filter. It almost sounds like its starving for gas/air. Boost leak will reduce the amount of air and a clogged filter reduce the amount of fuel.

See if you can get that CEL read though, that'll help us out greatly.
