does this sound like a boost leak?

okay, so I'm running 14# and seeing knocking up to 16-counts, my MAS is maxxing out(1599hz) at like 4000 rpms and my IDC's are low when I see the knock, say 50%.

Recently was under the hood and pulled the throttle cable while running the engine and saw a small puff of white smoke when it revved. Didnt notice any odor or sound when it happened. It came out from under my exhaust manifold somewhere, couldnt tell where really. Thought maybe an exhaust leak, but I dont know.

Had an Mas CEL code not long ago but it disappeared not long after it showed up, while it was on, it idled like crap.

Any ideas?

what color was the smoke? pure white, white with a tint of blue?
do you have a new knock sensor (recently changed)
what type of gas are you running?

I think the smoke was just white, it was very faint, but obvious. I don't know how old my knock sensor is, It's been reliable since I bought the car 6 months ago and the engine supposedly only has like 70k on it.
I don't suspect phantom knock since it coincides with the MAS maxxing out. I thought that when you maxxed out your MAS, you'd hit fuel cut, but all the posts I've read on fuel cut describe it as feeling like you hit a wall and then bucking, it doesn't do this, it just pulls timing and accelerates much slower. Also, the knock seems progressively worse with increased boost...not that I've done more than 15# with my set up. Did the higher octane test once recently with some octane booster and a half tank, and it reduced knock, that was before this problem presented itself...
And I always run premium(92 oct), usually shell.

Also, a friend told me there's some bluish/black smoke when I'm on the gas, so I guess I'm burning oil somewhere, I thought maybe, because, it goes down a nice bit, between changes. No shaft play in the turbo.
Don't know if this relates...

Just built a leak tester, but while testing its fit on my turbo, the crappy wiring on my "jdm" swap ripped at the engine temp sensor connector and it took me a day to fix it because it was already dark the day it happened.

Bought the car with a ton of mods already done so, I keep running into wierd half-@$$ed crap. Particularly with regard to wiring.

This car has a number of oddities, my O2-F sensor (narrow band), reads 2.5-3.5v and stays steady, no occillating like it should between .01 and 1. I have no Idea what thats about, suspect there is no exhaust ground after down pipe(o2 housing eliminated) install, but that doesnt really explain why it reads so high, I think it would read 0v with no ground. My mileage sucks because of this.
