I have a 1998 GSX...Car has been running fine...Yesterday was very hot outside so I had AC on to max and was driving and the car died for a second and then started again. It did that about three times. I noticed my negative post connector was cracked, so I replaced it today. I drove around the block and pulled into my drive way and the car died completely. I turned the key off then on it had no power. I pulled off the negative cable and put it back on and it started again? From searching the forums it seems like everyone is suggesting several things could be the problem. I was wondering if anyone has experienced about the same thing. From what I read, It sounds like maybe the caps on ECU?

Please help...need to drive!
Sorry if someone has posted the same problem, I have been searching for a while and have only found similar problems.

Thanks in advance

After cleaning the battery connections, I started to drive to autozone with the AC on and again for a split second it died and then started again. I turned off the AC and it did not do it again. Well I had the battery and alternator checked out while they were both on the car still. He said the battery was coming back fine, but the alternator was putting out 13.3 volts and 34.5 AMPS. He went to check the computer and it said that our alternators should be putting out 75 AMPS. He said to pull off the alternator and bring it in to him to bench test it. Does this seem like the problem, especially since it only seems like it shuts off when the AC is running and needs more AMPS?
