2g tranny in 1g issue and couple other problems

alright after crashing the 2g i picked up a 93 talon awd
i have a 2g tranny i got it mounted up fine but how do i get the speedo to work what will i need since 1g is mechanical and 2 g is electronic also what connector from the 1g harness is used for the front of the tranny on the 2g any help would be appreciated.

another problem is i have a 2g alternator what do i have to do to get it hooked up to the 1g harness since the 2g has a 4 wire plug and the 1g has a 2 wire plug.

From what I heard a 2G tranny will not work. Shieft cables are different and so is some other stuff. Not for sure but is what I have been told by people trying to do the same thing. I know from the 91-94 is the same but in order to put a 90 into a 91-94 you have to change cables and the tranny bracket.

well the tranny is in with no problemsand shifts fine and the transfer case mountsperfect ..

doesanyone have any i dea howto wire up the alternator from a 2g into a 1g???

2G tranny will work fine.

In the mechanical sender cases, the cable threads directly into the tranny. IN 2G's, the electrical sender screws intot he same hole. You just need to remove it from the 2G tranny and put what was in that hole into the 2G tranny from the 1G. Then your speedo will work fine. Be sure to swap over the shifter cable bracket from the 2G version to the 1G version from the old 1G tranny or the shifter linkages won't work just right

And why do you want to put a 2g alternator in a 1G? Your 1G one dead?
