Here is the deal guys. I have a 95 TSI fwd that has 120k on it, just replaced timing belt, HG, clutch, and slave cylinder and about 2 month after the car just stopped running on me one day. It sat for about a year and tonight I decided to try to get it running. I did a compression check and there was basically 0's across the board. Yet, the car seemed to want to fire but didnt. So I took the plugs out and threw a little oil in the cylinders to try to get them to move a little more to fire. I repeated this process a couple times. Finally I got it to start...........with a ton of smoke coming from every possible place it ran for about 30seconds with help feathering the gas but as it ran there was a knocking noise. Im sure this is a rod knocking. So I dropped the oil pan and checked the rod caps and one was screwed. Any advice as to what I should do or what I could do. New motor or is this a possible fix? Thanks for the advice.

thats what I figured. I figured that either A) new motor .............or B) Try to replace the broken busted parts if not too many.

Thanks
