Well guys i stripped my timing belt and destroyed my head..... THats not the problem that im having right now though. The problem i am having right now is getting timing right on the car. well i was trying to rotate the oil pump to feel the counter weight but i cant move the oil pump.... i can only move it with a wrench, this cant be right. do stock oil pumps seeze up or whats going on.

Something is not right as it should turn by hand.

Pull the pan and see if anything is in the way causeing it to rub. The gears may also be running into the front case. I would take the front case off and see what the gears in the pump look like.

This could be a balance shaft bearing issue...

The rear balance shaft is driven by/thru the oil pump gears. Balance shaft bearing distress would manifest itself as a difficult to turn oil pump.

I STRONGLY recomend you drain the engine oil into a clean drain pan. Inspect the oil for sparklies, take a screwdriver and stir it, do you see a copperish tint? If so, a balance shaft ( and/or other) bearing failure is likely....

I also think cutting open the oil filter would tell the tale....

well i have terrible news......... to sum it all up engine is shot.... but guess what i just realized is sitting in my drive way.... its my other car, a plymouth colt vista awd and it has a 4g64 block in it :)... i think i smell a destoked.

Well bearings are shot. for the balance shaft and the crank. aperntly the crank is shot and so are the connecting rods. I figure i should either do a 6 bolt 4g63 or i should do a 4g64 sence i have the block and order the slowboy racing destroker kit.

This happened to me, the oil pump balance shaft bearing had came out the block some kicking the balance shaft sideways in the oil pump and locking it up, breaking belt. I had a kevlar belt so it ripped about 6 teeth off and would still barely run. It didn't bend any valves and bottom end was fine. Punched bearing out, cut balance shaft off and welded end, put in new oil pump and belt. Good as new.
