I looked around the forums a bit "didn't spend terribly long searching" and couldn't find a similar problem with an answer.

So the background of the story is my car has been acting up lately. It drives perfectly fine and then once the car warms up or randomly starts sputtering and sounding as if it were only running on 3 cylinders. * it also throws up code 0300 random misfire*. It goes away when th e ECU is reset but comes back shortly after so I've pretty much ruled out mechanical.

Now, to the issue I'm having now. I switched out my 680's for the stock injectors so I could take out my DSMlink and put in my stock ECU to possibly rule out and ECU problems. So I go through my Chilton's manual, follow the directions (relieve the fuel pressure, take everything apart, put it back the way you found it) and now the car will crank but not start. So it cranks but doesn't start and when its cranking I can smell fuel really badly but cant spot any leaks. Also there is plenty of fuel getting to the Fuel Rail because when I started taking it apart again to put the 680's and the DSMlink back in to see if it would start again fuel spilled out everywhere. And even with the 680's back in and DSMlink back in the car still wont start.

Any suggestions?

**edit, also on the original problem im leaning towards the crank and or cam sensor dropping the signal after warmup*

As for the not starting thing. Sounds like you are getting too much fuel. Try posting this on the dsmlink forums as well. Perhaps disconnect your fuel pump or relay or something, and crank it, see if it will start then. If so cut it off and reconnect the fp. There may just be so much fuel in the pistons its drowning out the spark, etc. Good luck man.

Didn't even think of that, thx. Isn't DSMlink related because it happens with both ECU's *the current not starting* as for the other problem I have posted on the DSMlink forums, but i want to be sure.

I would check for spark while you are waiting for a reply. If you aren't getting spark, then you aren't getting injector control (firing of the injectors). Which more than likely is the crank angle sensor.

Well, I went to my local shop "torquefreaks" and borrowed a coil pack from them, hooked it up, car started fine. After that I shut the car off unhooked the borrowed coil pack hooked the spark plugs back up to my coil pack and wouldnt you know it, outa the freaking blue my car starts all the sudden....... so confused.
