My coworker and I hop in my car and head off to get lunch today. After lunch we come out, get in the car and everything is fine. As soon as I go to crank the starter I hear every relay in the car click and the entire thing dies. Not even so much as emergency flashers are working. I let it sit for a minute and everything comes back on. I try to start it again and the same thing happens, this time it stays dead. What happened? I checked all fusable links and everything looks OK, battery cables are tight and battery is fully charged. I am going to have to come out after work and try to get her running again because I cannot afford to have it towed home to the tune of $250. Please help me by letting me know where else to check as this is my only means of transportation at present.

WTF

No it is dead. There is no power to *anything* not even brake lights. The attempted jump start didnt even turn the interior cabin light on.

There must be something bad between the battery and the starter. My guess would be a relay or fuse. But if you checked those already maybe there is a wiring harness somewhere that is loose. That is really weird.

Ok just went out and double checked everything...it looks like the 80 amp fusable link (alternator) in the passenger side fuse box is discolored. The metal doesnt look broken but the discoloration makes me think its blown. I was trying to pull it out but had no luck. Do I have to unbolt the two lines that attach under it to get it out? I tried everything and could not get it out for the life of me.

also im lookin at my mitchell on demand and it shows a "theft control unit" AFAIK I have no stock security but is there some way that I could have it and it got triggered shutting power down to everything?

I hate to say it but I am as lost as you are. I can't think of anything that could be causing your problem.

But if I have an epiphany then I will let you know.

P.S. I know you have most likely checked this many times already but its my last thought: Are your battery terminals or connectors corroded?

Good luck. I hope its an easy/cheap fix.

grounds are clean and corrosion free, everything is tight and I unplugged and replugged in a bunch of harness connectors in the random hope it would help.
