Car: 99 GS.
In the past month or so, i've noticed a small backfire at low rpm's, usually first or 2nd gear. The backfire doesn't happen everytime I stop and take off, so its been a pain to diagnose. I've noticed when the car is hot it does it more often. For example its the mid 80s today and i started my car and I let it idle for a minute or two before actually driving away and when I shifted into 2nd gear it back fired. The backfire is a little popping sound, not something really loud. I've recently replaced the plugs and wires and checked them again and they seem to be fine. My bro who knows more then me about cars said it may be the coilpack misfiring once in a while or something along those lines. Anyone have any ideas as to what the problem is or how to farther troubleshoot? Thanks.

It finally decided to through a code. EGR as expected. If you are experiencing these problems I would first try fooling around with vaccum lines, spark plugs, wires, and EGR.
