Ok, I already checked the forum for all related material reguarding 2g headlights. No where could I find a wiring diagram or any info on how to wire properly. Here's my story...I bought 97-99 black housing eclipse headlights off of e-bay. I needed new ones ### my other one's got damaged and I only paid $150. So here's the thing I got them in the mail today and I looked at the back of the headlight housing and it has totally different connections on it. Normal 97-99 headlights I know have just the stock one plug adapter on it for high/low beams and the turn signal harness whereas these headlights I received today had plug-in adapters for both high and low beam. Turn signal bulbs checked out fine and plug in perfect, but nothing else seems to match up. Please tell me how to re-wire these headlights properly and if I have to purchase any kind of harness to make them work. Thanks, Dan

Here's the link of how they look...

(notice how the back of the headlight is totally different from a factory 97-99 headlight.)

Please help asap!

They work fine. What you need to do is cut the harness on your stock headlights where they disappear. Take the large plug that plugs into the main harness off the light and pull the other plugs out the back of the assembly.

Re attatch the wires that you cut.

When you connect the new headlights, the plug with the blue and black wires goes in the one that is green and black on your original harness. Why they made them different colors I don't know. That said, the red and black obviously goes with the red and black plug.

Your harness will be loose so you'll need to clamp, or something that large plug somewhere to keep it secure.

Ok I understand, but here's the thing I no longer have the stock headlights to cut the stock harness off of it. So now what do i do...

Can someone please give me as much info as possible. If someone knows what wires go where and what colored wires get connected please tell me asap. Thanks for all the help...

DAN K.

Ok..I just finished hard-wiring my new headlights in yesterday. Turn signals, low-beams, and halo's all work perfect. But here's the problem...the high beams dont want to turn on. I flick the switch to switch from low to high...fogs go out so I know the switch works and high beams dont turn on. So I was wonderin if you guys could help me out on this one...all wires are connected right...(Look at the link above to see what the headlights look like and wires that come out the back). There are blue and black wires for low beam and red and black for the high beam. I connected the 2 black ground wires together and ran them to the black wire in the car that went into the orginal headlights. Then just connected the blue wire for low beams to the red with blue stripe on it from the original wires. And finally the red wire for the high beams to the solid red wire in the car. Then, just pluged in the turn signal bulb harness and everything works except the highs????? NEED HELP!

Thanks, but that was kind of a pointless post.. Also, he understood that. His problem is that he doesn't have the original headlight to take the harness out of.

Killa, if you have access to a multimeter/voltmeter test out the wires , see what one registers 12v only when the highbeams are on. When I looked at my plugs, this was the way the wires were connected to the main harness...(Paint artwork FTW!) The dotted line of course is how it should be hardwired.

Ok thanks for the art work...kinda helps...I did check the wires w/ a meter and got 12volts on 2 wires because when our highs are on the low's are also on. So the only difference in my wiring and the diagram you drew is my black went to my black wire...and my blue wire went to my red with blue stripe.

This is wierd ### my low beams work perfect, turn signals work, and so do the halo's. But when I try and flick to the high beam, it cuts the fog lights but doesnt turn on the high beam bulbs. So I'll try this wire setup u gave me tomorrow and see how it all works. Thanks again.

yea i bought those same headlights and started a thread on them like last year i think. what i did just incase i decided to get the OEM ones later on was keep the stock plug in tact and pull out the little metal thing from the ebay light plug, then file it down the end so it was narrow enough to stuff into the OEM plug then wrapped a whole bunch of electrical tape around the whole thing. it took a while to figure out which wires went were and which two have to be connected together but the job turned out great. Also a good tip is wireing the halo thing (two little wires) into the side marker light so u can have the halos light up with the parking lights and looks cool when you park the car with parking lights on. o yea and DSMCRAZY3's MS paint looks right

That's why I was hesitant to post this, but when I went out to look I swear that's how it was from plug to plug. I did think it was weird that black didn't go to black on the main harness. I'll double check and take a pic tomorrow for you.

Ok thanks guys for the info...I already did the halo wiring like you said to the turn signal bulb. That turned out sweet...I'll ###### get around to it today for the high beam wiring. Thanks again...

so i am wanting to totally replace my headlights too and have the wiring harness and the new lights that are also halo projectors. i was wondering if anyone knows where to get a wiring diagram for the front end of the car that would show headlight wiring and also cooling fan wiring along with turn signals. i really need a diagram without it i am an electrical RETARD!!! LOL
