Ok so my boost gage got stolen as well as my stereo and misc other stuff outtamy car, so I bought a new CF autometer boost gauge, but it uses a plastic kind of tube insted of the rubber kind my former had, its got a lot smaller I.D. then my former gauge, so much so that I can fit the entire plastic tube inside of the rubber one. In fact thats what I did for my install, put it the plastic tube inside and did a slip fit kind of deal of it. Well now the gauge says i'm only doing 5PSI at WOT. Could this be from the slip fit? I know its probably yes, but then I checked for leaks and there were none anywhere. So wouldn't the lip fit just act like a reducing coupling? :dsm:

All autometer boost gauges come with that nylon tubing. I'm assuming your original one either came in the car, or you bought it used.

The problem you're having is due to how you have it set up. Air is leaking out between the rubber tube and the nylon tube. You need to either go to Lowes or Home Depot and get some brass fittings including the barb. fitting for the rubber hose to slide over, or hook up the nylon tube how it's supposed to be. Either way it's a cheap simple fix.

i got my autometer guage out of an srt4 and it had that nylon tubing to, i just got some rubber tubing that barely fit over the nylon one and then zip tied the shit out of it. Seems to work fine.
