I just baught a 98 eclipse about 3 months ago and the sunroof has never worked on it, so the first thing I did was hook a pos. and neg. up to it and the motor still works. I then stuck one of those light up current deals into the wire going to the switch and no power there, but there is power at the kicker fuse box in the sunroof fuse spot, And It's Not The Fuse. What do I Do?

First check both fuses that operate the sunroof: #17 (20A) and #8 (10A). If good, check to make sure the driver's door switch isn't permanently connecting it's wire to ground (this disables sunroof). If good, check to see that the sunroof switch applies a ground to it's two position wires (switch operates by applying ground - not power). If so (and you say the motor works) then it is a bad Sunroof-ECU (or some broken wires but more likely the ECU) - go pick up a working used one (or new if you want to spend the $). The ECU is in the headliner near the switch.

So What Is Suppost To Be Grounded That Im Testing. There Is Two Wires Going To The Switch A Green And A Black. Neither Of These Is Suppost To Have Power. How Do I Test The Sunroof Ecu And What Does It Look Like?

Unplug the sunroof switch. Test that the black wire (middle pin) of the harness side plug goes to ground (has 0 resistance on your meter from it's pin to body metal). Then put one meter lead in the middle pin of the switch side plug and the other to each of the other 2 pins and operate the switch. One of the 2 pins should get connected on each way of the switch. The sunroof ECU is a box in the roof headliner. There is no test for it but you should make sure the orange wire (pin 3) is not grounded with the drivers door shut.
