stalling and shifting probs...?

When i first bought this car the guy who i bought it from said the shift linkages need to be adjusted... and i cannot find if and how to do that. If anyone knows of a thread that would be appreciated.

Also it does have an idle surge problem until it warms up. Now sometimes when i go to shift( normally happens when above 3000 rpms and shifting nice and slowly) the rpms keep going down until the car stalls??? any ideas? does it have to do with the idle surge problem>? thanks

As far as the idle surge/stalling. I'd start with the basics. Check for boost/vacuum leaks. Adjust the base idle. Check the isc coil impedance, etc. Here are some helpful links:

I hated driving my car until I installed a Symborski shifter kit, an Extreme stiff shift kit (on transmission), and BG Synchroshift lube. Now it's great. Highly recommend these items.

As for idle surge.... it's a never ending battle. My car is pretty good now after warmed up but it still has bad days (usually when cold weather). Still not bad enough to mess with. Had best improvement when i removed my TB and cleaned it and the idle air motor.

Thanks for the help guys shifter adjustment worked and im going to start with a boost leak test for the idle.
