Hey guys i jus got a 95 TSI AWD, the guy i got it from said it blew but he was a dumb kid that doesnt really kno what hes talkin about, the motor looks fine to me. The batter was completely dead so i replaced it, im tryin to get it running now. The car turns over like its tryin to start but wont fire, anyone have any ideas what are some things i coudl try? Any help would be great.

I bought my 95 Tsi AWD with them telling me the engine and trans were blown up. ROFL
It was the fuel pump.

First off, Why did he conclude that it was blown? Any noise descriptions? He could be right... Its pretty easy to figure out KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK. Check the oil and coolant for mixing.
Think about what it takes to run; Air, fuel spark. Check these and you'll find your problem. An easy way to check both at the same time (like I did), would be remove all 4 plugs. Pour a few ounces of fuel into all of the cylinders, and reinstall plugs. If it fires, you have no fuel. If it doesn't, you have no spark. :thumb:

A couple things you could do is first, check the compression on the engine, if that checks out ok then check the fuel pump, ignition, and some of the main parts, spark plugs, wires, my last suggestion is if you got the car for really cheap, which i would hope so if the motor is supposed to be blow, just take it to a mechanic and ask if they can diagnose the problem for you. Good Luck

:toobad: Why would anyone ask about diagnostics if they just wanted to "take it to a mechanic".:barf:
