I recently got a 7bolt from a friend that had it rebuilt...every thing but the cranks was checked out. he told me that the only problem with it was that it needed a new crank because when he first started and let it run for 30 min it started to make a noise. and when the checked it out the bearings were scored up. The rods and pistons are all new. my question is, just getting the crank checked out making sure its balanced and what not, and replacing the main and rod bearings do you think ill be alright? i want to replace and or get every thing checked out befor i put it in the car and have to pull it all out again. im still new to doing major work so i need some experts that know whats going on to help me out....i have some pics below...also the BS has been removed and i was wondering if that one stubby part is suppose to go where the BS use to be? and was the oil shaft part suppose to but cut?? i havent seen a BS kit installed befor so i wanted to make sure that it was done correctly on my block. you can see the oil part thats cut on the lower part of the crank pic. sorry this post is kinda every where.

Main bearings far shot
Main Bearing Up close they all look like this
Rod Bearing #2
Rod Bearing #4
Rod Bearing #3 (#1 also looked the same with the copper color coming through)
Crank in block

Thanks for your time

the reason the crank ate up the bearings could have been from the crank being cut/machined and the bearings were standard (or just not the correct bearings). Replace the crank, get new bearings and while you're at it... have the oil squirters taken out and plug the holes to prevent crankwalk. As for the BS kit...its a little stub yes with a sealant ring that replaces where the BS used to go, but we dont have a clear picture to see if it was installed corrected.

ya im getting another crank and bearing......can i remove the oil squirters my self?? if so where are they at exactly haha and ill see if i can get a better picture of the BS..thanks alot

I took mine to a machine shop to take them out. Make sure you plug the oil squirter holes after they are taken out. Have the machine shop take a look at the BS kit stub when you take it there. They should be able to tell you if you installed it right. Good Luck....
