My check engine light came on for the first time. Pulled following codes from my logger:
12: Airflow sensor
43: EGR

- Tried resetting codes, but comes back immediately.
- Ran EGR test via Logger's diagnostics and checked out ok.
- Car runs fine and idles like a champ.
- Vacuum hoses and electrical connections look ok under the hood.
- Verified SAFC connections still ok.
- 40k original miles.
- Just installed 680PTEs about 2 weeks ago and having issues with injector seals, but haven't had the time to pull full rail to fix.
- Only real change I can think of is high ambient temps lately. Logger read about 130F at the time the cel came on.

Can anyone shed some light on what could be causing this? Having both codes occur simultaneously must point to a specific problem.

You're EGR vacuum line is disconnected. Slip it back on and you should be good to go. The EGR vaccuum line shouldnt cause your car to idle badly so the problem would probably be pretty stealth without the help of the CEL noticing you.

Checked EGR hoses and they're fine. I'll have to do some testing as per the shop manual and will post any findings. Have a feeling EGR may be obstructed.

ok - just an update
- All maf sensors resistances checked good
- maf harness voltage checked good
- Ended up unplugging the battery to reset codes and codes never came back
- Did notice slightly loose negative harness battery bolt and just retightened
- Since I was not able to reset the codes via the logger, I'm assuming that this was all caused by the loose bolt on the negative terminal.

Sounds like a reasonable fix.

Thanks for the update.
