Ebay Greddy BOV any problems

wrong forum.
search.
In the newbie forum there is a great thread all about them its like 8 pages long or something.
Persoanlly I have had nothing but good experience with my ebay greddy type s.
But be prepared to evntually replace the diaphram.

Most people have had nothing but good things to say, most that have actually bought one that is.

Buy one and try it, worst case scenario, you have to order a new diaphram from Greddy and you'll still have spent less than you would have for a type-s.

Hey soory bout not searching for it i wasent even thinking when i posted it but thanks for the info and the link to the thread:thumb:

A few months ago Modified MAG did an article on the whole "Ebay" knock-off car parts, and actually the imitator Greddy type-s was in there. When modified bought it, they first took it apart and noticed a big difference in quality compared to the real Greddy BOV. The fake BOV began leaking boost at 4 P.S.I. aswell. I have no personal experience with any Ebay products, I am just letting you know what i have read.

Of course they are going to say that. They are a car magazine sponsered by big name companys like Greddy. You think they would still be in business if they told people to buy the cheap stuff and lost their sponsers.....NOPE

Now if it was an impartial test done by a reputable company, then I might believe it. Personally I think the ebay one is fine. You could buy several of them before you got anywhere close to the "Real Deal" cost.

I bought one of the ebay ones and it works fine but you dont get the sound that the greddy has not that it matters because when its recurculated you really cant hear it that good anyways. But i wish i wouldve had the money for the greddy because i like the whistle it makes. The ebay one just dumps mike most others.

The imitation Greddy BOV's have inferior diaphragms that are not oil resistant. With the amount of oil and blow-by that sometimes goes through our intake tract along with the duty cycle that's required of the diaphragm, it isn't hard to see why they fail. The cheap fix is to buy a genuine Greddy diaphragm, which is oil resistant, and install it into the knock-off body. It's still usually cheaper than buying a genuine Greddy BOV.

DiamondStarM had some experience with this BOV and the replacement membrane in this thread. Post #33 is when he bought it. Post #87 is when it failed. Two months had elapsed. Here was his verdict: "I decided it was exactly the same as a real Greddy except the membrane was made of a really cheap material."

Losing sponsors is pretty bad. Losing readers who got scammed by cheap imitations, that's a whole 'nother story.

Exactly, soon a lot of car stuff will be like things in the real world, meaning it will just come down to brand loyality and how much you are willing to pay to show off the name brand you purchased.
