I have noticed WHITE smoke coming out of my muffler. I have a Megan racing downpipe with no cat or resonators going to a megan racing muffler. Could no cat be causing this or something worse???

Does it smoke only when you start the car up or does it continuously spit out smoke? If it only does it during startup then its just condensation. If it does it while you drive, then you might have a bigger issue like a cracked head where coolant is somehow making its way into a cylinder. GOOD LUCK!

yea white smoke = coolant problem...if it's continuous, it could be like he said ^^^ cracked head....or it could be a head gasket, either way, good luck.

ps...mine started doing it today to, so i feel ya

Everyone with white smoke coming from your exhaust: Check your turbos for shaft play. If there's no shaft play, you can rule out a failing turbo, which is a fairly major thing to worry about. If the seals on the turbo go, oil gets in the intercooler pipes and for some reason, the smoke comes out whitish-gray, even though it's not coolant burning.

I'm not automatically ruling out something more serious like a headgasket or anything. I'm just saying it might take all of five minutes to yank the intake pipe off and try to wiggle the comressor wheel, and if it does indeed wiggle, then you've figured out your problem in five minutes without going through the hassle of doing compression/leakdown tests or you and the "mad scientist ripping the block apart to replace the pison rings you fried." :)

Good luck.
