I have a '98 eclipse spyder gst. I am aware of the issue where the 2 small bars on either side of the convertible top can bend and prevent it from opening correctly, and I can prevent that. But what I am noticing is that when the top is all the way open, the left side sits down lower than the right side. I've looked at it and cannot tell what is preventing the right side from sitting down lower. I push on it and it gives, but pops right back up when my hand comes off. It also prevents me from being able to put the convertible top cover over it when the top is open.

Has anyone else seen or dealt with this? Any ideas?
I'll try to put up some pics to show you what I mean.

Thank you.

There is an adjustment for both sides. You have to take off the inside back seat paneling and on or around the motor housing there is an adjustable stop for up and the down travel for that side. I haven't tried it yet, but that what the manual on CD says.

Thank you for the info BK85. I will check it out and let you know how it goes.

Hey,
I finally adjusted the right side of my convertible top so it opens completely and I can now fit the boot over it.
Is was quite simple. Once you get the seat, seat back, and side panel off, you need to open (or close) your top half way. There are 2 bolts that adjust the top, one for when the top closes and one for when it opens. Just screw in the bolt on the bottom to your desired depth (some trial and error) and should be good to go.

Now my boot finally fits on.

I did not have any issues and it was very simple once you know what to do.

If anyone has questions about this, let me know.
