I have a 95 tsi awd and I just did a head job(ported the head, ground valves and seats) installed arp head studs, put on a NT tb and a 16g with 550s and and fmic. When I first started my car with the 550s it ran bad obviously because it wasn't tuned(I have an AFC and a logger) and I did a quick tune, just good enough that it allowed me to at least rev through the entire rpm range. Well then when I took it out to drive it it was really doggy and barley went anywhere, almost like I had a big boost lead(Already tested) so I get back and I put the 450s back in and zero out the AFC and take it out for another spin and there was no change. The weird part is my boost guage will say 10-18psi but the car isn't hardly going anywhere and I'm only at 3k rpms. When I hit wot I was watching my logger and my timing jumped 17 degrees retarded. Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be? I have a feeling that it is in the fuel system considering that there wasn't any change between the 550s and 450s and I know for a fact cam timing is dead on.

It's unlikely this is your case, but it's still a possibility. A while back I swapped throttle bodies and put the new one on and bolted everything down. However, in the process I kinked the fuel line from the filter to the rail. I was hitting fuel boost, but I was going absolutely nowhere. Just a possibility :thumb:

its possible. I did put a new fuel filter on in the process so maybe I kinked the hard line? Also the revs are weird at idle. Like when I first strat it it idles perfect which my car has never done, then on decel in netural it drops to ~200rpm and the oil light comes on and after its warm it ranges between 1400 to 2000 rpms and I replaced the iac and the throttle body and basically everything in the whole intake track and nothing has fixed it.

Well, double check all of your fuel lines from the filter to the rail and make sure they are in no way kinked or twisted. Then do the routine double checks and see if all of your cables and sensors are all hooked up.

well I know all of the sensors are connected except one that hasnt been connected since I've owned my car.(black 3 wire blug by the mass air) right now I'm thinking that while tightening the fuel filter I might have kinked the lower fuel line. Thats the only thing that I can think of at this point. I'll have to check tomorrow since my car is at school

It's a possibility. The most common is the fuel line from the top of the filter to the fuel rail that ends up kinked. Check that out and then post back. And that black 3-prong sensor you were talking about that hasn't been hooked up is your stock boost control sensor.

Ok just checked and the fuel lines are all fine but the problem is actually the timing. I checked timing with a timing light and its pretty far off. I know that the cams and crank are 100% in time so I guess it has to be the ignition timing. Problem is on a 95 you cant adjust base timing so how does that work?
