Hello, ive been having a hell of an oil leak and i think i found it....what is the seal right under the injectors that runs up and down? And where can i find that seal to buy? Its a 4g63T...Thanks

i am not too sure what you are refering to but it sounds like a valve cover seal, you can pick it up at any parts retailer.

The intake manifold gasket? Uh... the intake manifold doesn't get any oil in it. Or shouldn't. It's likely to be your valve cover gasket leaking down onto the intake manifold. Be careful when you're changing it out, the bolts strip very easily as the head is made of aluminum.

Not only that, but do NOT torque the bolts down when you put the valve cover back on. The VC is aluminum and torqueing the bolts too hard will crack it. Hand tight should work fine as long as the gasket is sealed nicely.

Man i wish you guys lived near... i dont know half this sh.t, so i should try the valve cover gasket and see if that works? do 1gs generally leak from the vc? i mean i lost 7 quarts from Ny to virginia so its leaking bad, thanks for all the help

7 quarts is a serious leak. More than I think would come out of the valve cover gasket.

If you don't want to take it to the dealership to get it tested and find out for sure, you can buy a UV dye kit that you can use to track down leaks. You use a black-light to spot where the oil is coming out. I'm pretty sure they make these for oil. I know they make them for AC and coolant. Here is one for example. I'm also pretty sure that most Autozones and such should carry something similar to this. But for a 7 quart leak over a trip like that... I would just break down (no pun intended) and take it to the dealership.

Yah, it was insane oil was everywhere, even on the back of my license plate, so i jacked the car up and it was only dripping a little bit from some where on the backside of the motor...ill check autozone out tomm...and see if they have any uv kits...Thanks
