Long story short - Just putting her back together...(changes were new tranny, fiberglass dash)
When I try to start will crank and crank but not fire. I have spark, fuel, but no noid.. diag plug is 12v steady.. no codes.. dead. so i open the ecu, caps are leaking.. pretty bad.. order a new ecu... in the mean time.. i tried recapping and fixing the old ecu.. plug it in.. nothing.. just cranks, never starts.. diag plug is 0v. like the ecu is unplugged?.. I check ecu cable.. 13v. all pins working proper.. acc jumps to 12v when i turn the key.. etc.
Today, replacement ecu arrives... Plug it in..... fired right up... yay!... let it idle for 5 mins or so.. check things over.. maybe a vacuum leak .. little rough idle.. yeah yeah, i'll retime it and fix the leaks.. no biggy..
15 mins later.. try to start it up again and take it for a drive... nothing..
just cranks and cranks.. i have no codes.. 0v. like the ecu is unplugged?.. i have fuel, spark, no noid again.
totally lost and confused... this is the second ecu.. is the security system kicking on or something?.. I dunno if i have one...pretty sure it's there somewhere.. ANY help at all Would be greatly appreciated!!!
update..oh yeah, opened the new ecu, it's perfect. plus it worked 15 mins ago?!
