 alright guys i just did a 6 bolt swap into 96 gst eclipse. made sure everthing was connected. i follow the 6 bolt swap forum from racing engineering. so i tried to start up and i disconnect the plug from fuel pump first to get some fuel to the injectors. then i plug it back up. i have the coil on plug setup. all the wiring is correct. turn the key and it just tries to start but it doesnt. please help!!!

on the coil on plug do i use my 2g power transistor or 1g? i have my 2g right now. and the motor that i swapped in is a 1992

could this be the problem? i did not set a base timing with the cam angle sensor. do i have to mess with the cam angle sensor that is on the head. I was reading it on roadraceengineering.com

Yes, you have to adjust the 1g CAS on the head to get base timing right. When you installed it, did you line it up correctly? Put your motor at #1 TDC and line up the notch on the paddle of the CAS with the dot on the housing of the CAS and slide it into the notch on your intake cam. Put it in the middle of the adjustability range so its not too far one way or another before you put the timing light on it.

thanks i switched the coil on plug trigger wires and it started right up. now comes the tuning and timing. thanks. "case closed"
