90 tsi, never had a problem starting till now, coil probelms, Please help ASAP

Ok, got a 90 tsi awd, never had any problems starting till now, went out this morning to go to work and it started and ran for like 30 seconds then died. getting fuel, but no spark. can the coil just go out like that, i checked the coil as per chiltons but i dont know if im doin it right. but no spark. is there a real difference between 90 and 91, the chiltons said 90 was different specs for the coil. Im sure i can get another coil but need to know if my car being a 90 makes a difference. PLEASE HELP ASAP, need to get to work.

ok i got it figured out. it was the mpfi fuse on the battery, but what would cause that to blow?

About a million things. Don't worry about it unless it happens again. As for your questions yes the 90 has a different ignition system than any other year dsm and yes the coil can go out suddenly (or just start getting weaker and weaker). 90 coil specs: 0.86 ohms primary, 12.1k secondary.
