YEAH im pissed, you have no idea, you pay somone a crap load of money for a cheap job when all i needed was a couple of synchros

things ive done:

*adjusted clutch pedal rod is all the way out
*bled clutch twice
*checked shift linkage

it seems like it goes into gear when the car is off however when the car is on i press in the clutch try and put it in first or third or fifth and as i release the clutch it grinds horribly.

please help.. i suspect the guy who rebuilt it left something out

Does it go into gear when the engine is not running? Try putting it in the aforementioned problem gears with the engine off. Start the engine. Does it stay in gear? If so, it's not your transmission. If your clutch is not right, you can't get it in gear no matter what transmission you have or who rebuilt it.

Disconnect your shift linkage and see if you can get the transmission to go into those gears. Does it?

Put your transmission in and out of first gear. Take note inside where your shifter is as to which cable is moving and what direction. Adjust your linkage accordingly to see if that works.

See if the little plastic block is on your shift linkage out on the transmission. This usually causes havoc when missing.

All else fails, like said before, contact the rebuilder. You have a warranty, not a guarantee. There's a difference. Warranty is to help you if you have a problem during a period of time or miles. Guarantee means nothing bad will happen. Big difference.

Good Luck

What would that mean, if can or cannot go into gear with the linkage disconnected?

Not sure what plastic block your talking about, but what if the linkages were missing some of the rubber bushings, and would it be better to get a metal bushing kit?

I'm having similiar problems with my tranny being hard to get into gears but I know my tranny is good and it happened after a clutch swap and I lost some of the bushings and didnt think they were important when reinstalling the shift linkages. I'm going to re bleed my slave cylinder again though, for the third time to see if that helps.
