Ok so here's the deal, i was driving my talon down the interstate when i noticed that when i wot it the boost gauges goes all the way up to 25 30 psi !! :notgood: and i know that i'm not boosting that much! so my buddy dsmrevolution told me to do a boost leak test:thumb: well i found three problems during this 1. as i took the maf off i noticed a 1/4" to 1/2" long by 1/8" tall hole in the plastic part! :toobad: so i fixed that and thats no longer leaking, 2. i finally was then able to do the leak test and found my bov to leak out the blow off tubing, 3. then i would pinch off the tubing that ran from the j pipe off the turbo to the bov and would creat a hiss at the throttle body and elbow area. now any ideas how to fix the bov part of my problem, the other one seems pretty simple and i thinik i have an idea why it leaks too, because i took it off along with the trottle body to clean it and i noticed the plastic gasket was broke and RTVed back to gether and also there is a bolt striped that i need to fix so right now only 3 bolts hold it tight! any input on this would be great thanks!! oh and another note i'm not sure how to explain this but when i drive and hold the throttle at a steady position and let it boost it will hold for a bit then as the turbo is still spooling it sounds like the bov opens while i'm still boosting and then if i mash it the rest of the way it my gauge reads at 25 30 agian??? WTF
 
Replace all the seals in the throttle body dont use rtv. How much boost were you running before it started doing this? What does the boost gauge read when the car is off?
 
I would just get all the seals replaced. Also check your vacume lines for leaks that coould be causing the wastegate not to function and actually make you run 25psi...
 
Get a new gasket for the throttle body. Also buy copper gasket maker spray. Make sure you plug the inside of the throttle body with news paper or something, but spray the throttle body with the copper spray, and then spray the elbow. Once it has a chance to dry a little bit, add the regular gasket on and tigheten everything up. You should not be leaking anymore, stay away from the RTV if you can help it on the parts that hold air pressure. Oh yea, and make sure you take the newspaper or whatever you used out before putting everything together.
 
i know to stay away from the rtv but its funny cause the dumb a$$ at the import shop i bought it from did this, LOL i mean the "shop" for crying out loud! just goes to show that there are still retards out there that really don't know what there doing at times!!! thanks for all your help guys and like i said i'm ordering the gaskets "both" from SBR when i get paid and i will let you know after that!!
 
alrighty so i did the leak test and found the trottle body leaking so now i just did the gaskets on both sides of the throttle body and re did the leak test and found no leaks any where! BUT i still go all the way to 25 30 psi with a mashed throttle! i'm dumb founded now! so any thoughts on this now would be awsome and any wisemen help too!
 
could this have any thing to do with my actuator, or that i don't have a mbc or a bcs?? i mean nothing leaks so theres no boost leak but it idols and runs rough like something is wrong. and another note when i had the trottle body off is, would it make a difference if i had a cyclone moter but not the cylcone intake manifold!??
 
Is there any one local that can help to go at least in the right direction cause this sucks, i think there is something badly wrong w/ my car and i have no idea what? and i don't have money to take it to a dealer and the only shop that seems to work on these cars is the one that sold me the screwed up thing any ways!!??? ahh!!!!
 
Check the vaccum line going to the wastegate and see if it has a tare in it. Do you have a manual boost controller? If so check to see if the spring inside isnt jacked. Re do a boost leak test and see if anything happens again? Oh ya are you doing the test with a hand pump or air compressor?
 
i am doing it with an air compressor and the lines are ok and no mbc i've been getting word that it's probably my waste gate actuator thats at fault !! so my buddy brandon or "dsmrevolution" is going to help me on monday and were going to tear into my car and figure out just what all is wrong with my car b/c the guy i bought it from was a complete idiot. there's stuff missing and things the are hanging around that idk if they should be hooked up i mean its a can of worms right now and he is coming to try and help!
