Edmonton,
So i tried to install an aftermarket "universal" block heater on my gf's 95 esi and we ripped out the aluminum plug that is there from the factory, after some swearing and fighting with it we finally got it out, didnt lose that much coolant. now the problem arises, we attempt to put in the "universal" block heater and its too big. So now im stuck with a hole in the block and nothing to plug it with. I know from factory they usually come with a block heater that attatches to the lower rad hose, but they have these ones also. Anone reccomend where I can get a true block heater for this or another plug? if a plug would even be able ot go back in at this point... thanks.

605-3248 is the Napa part number for the block heater,I would get the 35mm expansion plug and get one that goes inline with the lower rad. hose. Seems to be a favorite among DSMers in Canada.

where would i get the 35mm expansion plug? and is this the right size for a 95 non turbo 2.0l dohc? btw thanks alot for the help.

Napa has them as well. They might call it a freeze plug or an expansion plug but I know they have them. Also if you don't have a Napa handy you can take that number to any store and they can cross it into there numbers.

also should i use anything when putting in the new block heater or plug? like any kind of sealant or gasket or anything?

okay so buddy at napa said just to use clean anti freeze around the rubber ring and that makes the seal... what if i dont use the block heater but i use the plug, then what should i use to seal it?
