yesturday boosting 12psi, now 6psi?

Ok so today i got my 1g bov, which obviously will not work by taping it onto the place where the 2g bov sat.
So i put the original bov back on untill i can get me some upper intercooler pipes w/ 1g flange.
I remember reading that if you dont plug back in your maft?(anyway the plug where the intake is) that you would only be boosting 1/2.
and i thought thats what it was... but its all pluged in and everything.
So upon further examination i figured out the small little piece that connects to the intake manifold was broken off, i sealed up the hose because i cant really fix that right now i have to leave for work. That one little hose makes me boost 50% less?
sounds like that couldnt be right, so im just wondering if that really is it. Any input would be appreciated ill check back , whenver i get home from work.
 
Woah, back up.....Did you really tape the 1g bypass valve to your stock piping?

Which "little piece" broke off the manifold?
 
I agree. I can't understand what you're saying. Can you take a picture to help convey the problem?

no i taped the 1g bov straight onto where the 2g bov sits. worked fine was even boosting harder but that was just for testing purposes.
the piece i broke off the 2g bov was that little piece that connects to the intake manifold.
but i stoped at a autoparts store and picked up a piece to fix that and im now boosting normal again.
I just have to wait untill i order this

Does anyone know of those are good?
 
The reason you were boosting 6psi is because BOV stays open without the vacuum line which translates into a huge boost leak under boost and compressor surge after letting off.
