Here's the deal, i have a 92 tsi,(mods listed in my profile). I have tried to set the ignition timing. When i set it at 5 BTDC, it runs like crap, but it idles well. I noticed that it runs a little better if I advance it a little. When I advance the timing, the idle gets horrible. I have been tryin to figure out why the car jumps the timing light on the gun. It has some misfire in the idle and while driving, everything in the ignition has been replaced with a new or used part. I was told from Oldmitsutech that it might be my cam sensor. I told him that the light on the gun wont flash at a steady rate, every once in awhile it will skip a flash. Could the cam sensor really be the culprit of this misfire at idle, making the car feel like its being held back while driving, and jumping the timing light like I had explained earlier.
Let me know guys,
