I believe I need a new head gasket and water pump. Well, having to pull the head to do this why not just pull the whole motor and build it. I would post this somewhere else but I cannot due to being a new member. I was wanting to know if someone could post up a parts list for an engine build/ rebuild. I would like to know what all parts need to be replaced. I know to build a motor you need...

Assembly lube
Rods bearings
Main bearings
Rods
Pistons
Rings
polish crank
head bolts
oil pan gasket
front main seal
rear main seal
water pump
timing belt
belts

I know I have left out a few things due to not being familiar with the 4g63t engine. If some guru that has rebuilt a successful engine or 2 post up it would be great. In my search I found 1 thread but there was never a list of parts to buy.

Don't forget you are going to need a complete gasket set. I would do ARP headstuds, Main studs, and rod bolts since you have it apart. Rod bolts should come with the rods if you do an upgraded rod. While you have it apart I would also do a balance shaft elimination kit. If you don't then you will need a balance belt. Also you will need a couple things to go with that timing belt such as; balance shaft belt tensioner, idler pulley, tensioner pulley, and hydraulic tensioner. There are going to some misc things you might need as well. Some of them are bound to break during disassembly. Hope this helps. :thumb:

If you're eliminating the balance shafts, you don't need the balance shaft belt tensioner. ;)

You have to tell us exactly what you're looking to do with the car in order for us to help you with a parts list. Are you going for a 1900whp monster or a weekend warrior?
Give us an idea on what kind of whp you want to achieve and what you'll be using the vehicle for and we'll be able to give you a better list of parts.

Hey Jon, send me a stock 6 bolt block ;)

Only if you send me a built one for my car. :p

And I put the tensioner there in case he is keeping the balance shaft...wiseaaa...man :tease: J/K

Well I used to own a 400+ whp 95 civic hatch and I would pretty much like that feeling. I am not sure how hard it is to obtain 400whp in these cars. I know my hatch was a gsr motor with stock sleeves and a block guard, je 9.0:1 pistons and Eagle rods. This was with a completely stock head, precision sc-61 turbo charger and a equal length mani. This car was tuned super conservative, enough that the back bumper was smutted with exhaust. so to make the 415whp it was a 26psi due to the large amounts of fuel. Really I would like to have a low 11sec car or possibly quicker. My hatch was reliable and I could drive it to the strip and then back home no worries. I want the same for this car.

Please add to my list and maybe the thread will accomplish its purpose. I would like and for other to see exactly what all parts are needed to rebuild or build a motor.

Thanks for the links but it doesnt partain to my original question. The question about what I wanted to do with the car side tracked my original question. I would like to get a full parts list needed to rebuild a 4g63t, sucha s gasket and which ones, any little random parts that I am not aware of like thrust washers or something quirky like that. I dont really want to bother the people at work by saying "hey, i need all the parts to rebuild a motor" That would be a huge pain in the butt to look up and I am sure they would miss something. I think a complete parts list would be a pretty good sticky and would save people time knowing exactly how much money they will need for all the engine parts b/c they have a complete parts list. I think it would be a good sticky, and would also let people know exactly how much they are going to spend on a rebuild/build because they would have a complete parts list to take to the store or to look up online.
