Ok so yesterday I put on a new HKS grounding kit on my car, it was running just fine....Then i got in it this morning and it was idling rough, then CEL went on, so i plug in my code reader and its a 1 cyclinder misfire, could the ground kit cause this or is this just a coincidence? The spark plugs have maybe 5,000 miles on them, using NGK spark plug wires 30,000 miles on them. I grounded the valve cover, intake manifold, exhuast manifold, body twice.:dsm:

Make sure you didn't knock the plug off the coil pack.

Also I would be suspicious of arcing out of the plug wire to the valve cover. I would ground somewhere else other than the valve cover.

I just finished removing the ground kit and i'm still misfiring. Do i need to give the car some time to correct or if it still does it immediatly after it turns on it still is misfiring? all the plugs are connected nice and good to the coil pack and to the spark plugs.

Try unhooking your battery for a little while. Sometime's this helps sometimes it doesn't. It very well could just be a coinsidence that this happened when it did. If it is just doing it in cylinder one then I would check the plug on that one, maybe even compression on it and definately the wires to make sure they are ok. Check the firing order first. I have messed it up before when putting stuff back together. If it was coil related it should throw a CEL for a random misfire on all cylinders not just one.

This right here is proof that sometimes its always the simplest things you assume are fine that cause the problem....number 1 spark plug must have rattled lose, i tightened it and my problem was solved. I knew my stuff wasn't warn out enough. Thank you for your help guys.:dsm:

HAHA don't feel bad. I forgot to put a plug in once and put the boot in the hole and freaked about when it shot the wire out...thought the pistons hit the plugs and pushed it out or something...now I know that's not possible.
