OK, ive been trouble shooting a power drain in my 2g AWD for 5 nights now. Im not an electrical guy, but with a lot of help from "luv2rallye" (Thanks Bud), ive been able to issolate it somewhat.
I have a test light set up between the neg. cable and post on the battery to see if im changing anything.
I have tracked down the draw to the engine power circut that is fused in the engine bay box. Removing this fuse stops the draw. I started looking through components that i thought would be related. I have found that if i disconnect the 2nd ecu plug (pins 31-46), or the MFI relay, this also cancels the power draw. Im not sure if this is the MFI relay or not. It is the goldish colored 8-pin relay that bolts onto the centercolsole brace, pasanger side. I have been told that the MFI is a 4 pin, but i cant find that anywhere. And im pretty sure i found the fuelpump relay taped up all the way over by the ABS computer hookup.
This car was absolutely ravaged before i got it. I had a local shop install the engine and do the 6-bolt swap, as well as fix the disasterous wiring. I think this car was owned by a very special person before me. Im condidering asking them to fix this because i kinda feel like this should have been included in me asking them to "fix the wiring harness" Id rather lick this myself if i can though.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated
