Haltom City,
I just have a quick question..my car has been sitting out for about 1.5 months now and my battery is needed to jump start now..if the battery light appears but everything else works perfectly fine..does that mean the battery is still bad?..also when I roll down the windows..all the lights seem to dim.

One of about 4 things. Bad alternator, loose alternator belt, or a bad connection, or fuse.

If you use a dvom. Digital Volt/Ohm Meter, you will find that your battery is not being charged. You just need to find the reason. If the last 3 don't pan out, it's likely an alternator. They are internally regulated, I would take it to an alternator repair shop and have it gone through. Better quality than "off the shelf" type of rebuilds.

Speaking of loose belt, check the crank pulley to make sure it hasn't come apart. This happens quite often around here.

Good Luck

It's quite possible that your battery is shot from sitting so long and won't charge. Take it to AutoZone or somehwere and have them test the charging system. It's free. They'll tell you whats wrong. :talon:
