trouble starting

I wake up to start my car and let it warm up this morning and go figure it won't start.. i call this the PMS bug because it happens roughly once a month and i've had enough of it... When i crank the i hear the starter and can feel the engine trying to turn over, but my fan goes on and off like crazy and my tach doesnot move while i'm cranking it... could it be the ecu? also it last night it shut off on me twice while i was on the highway.. but fired right back up

keep in mind the only mods i have done to my car is a cai and header back exhaust.. i have a 95 gs 420a engine manual tranny.. yes i know i should have gotten a gst.. but it was all i could afford at the time and i really needed a car...

Any advice would help.. i am going crazy

Check to make sure that your battery cables are tight and secure. It happened to me not to long ago. The car started fine, and as I came to a red light, it died and would not start back up. I wiggled the battery cables and it started right back up. Also, when your car died, and you tried to start it again, did the interior lights or radio turn on? If not, definatley check your battery cables.

I would look at all battery related connections. Check at the starter also. Sure sounds like a loose connection somewhere. Cranking and tach not working could be a connection at the cam angle sensor or if memory serves me correct crank sensor. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

I tried fiddling all the battery cables and the starter is fine, all the connections are in order.. i'm totally out of options... any help would be greatly appreciated.. i'm probably going to have to buy a new ecu.. then sell the car

unfortunatly i tried to start my car again... don't crank... so i tested the coil and the coilpack is fine.. but when i tested the cables that plug into the coil... no power whatsoever... so i'm really guessing its the ecu now...
