I have replaced the alternator in the car, so I automatically assume that the problem is coming from my battery. During the day if I drive normaly and take the car out of gear and coast the rpms will drop fast and not catch sometimes causing the car to die sometimes. I have it set at 1000 rpms during idle. When the headlights are on it's even worse. What could cause this?

Thanks

this might not be it but. i had a problem like that, and i bought a new battery too and alternator and the car would still die. it turned out to be the alternator fuse. -good luck-

Are you venting to the atmosphere, or is your BOV Re-circulating? I've seen venting do this to my own car. (Had to try it once :D )

It's venting right now, the only reason why I don't have it reciculating is because I don't know of anything that can make the tight bend without crimping the the line to my intake. I've thought of this to but I didn't know if that mattered when just cruising with 0 psi reading on the boost gauge.

Thanks

maybe a poor ground somewhere??

I've heard hypergrounding helps in situations like yours. I really don't know (nor do I necessarily believe) if that is the root of your problem but it would certainly be an arguably worthwhile avenue, and relatively inexpensive. Of course using strategic points and good sized wires in as much of a series pattern as possible to yield the least amount of resistance would yield the best results.

If you're car is venting, I gaurantee that's your problem. If anything, just go to your local Chrysler dealership and pick up a return line from your BOV to your intake.

I picked one up about three weeks back. The correct term for the recirculation tube will be the 'Air Bypass Valve Recirculation Hose'.

Good luck with that.

thanks, for your help guys I'm going to go try recirculating to see if that doesn't fix it then I'll try the grounding idea. So non of you think this could be due to a bad battery, cause I do have to charge it if i let it sit for more than 2 weeks.

Pretty much any battery that's been sitting (connected) for two weeks will need a charge, especially on an older car that has tiny little undetected power draws all over the place most likely.

Try cleaning your battery posts/terminals and make sure your cables are tight.
