What exactly is idle surge and how can you tell if you have it? my car pulsates but not sure if it's idle surge or not. It's a 1g tsi awd

Idle surg the car is seaking its idle point, which in this case the car would rev up and down almost like its dieing and u hit the gas to keep it started..

Usally isc or tps causes this.. boost leak causes rough idle..

Usually on dsm's it will rev between 1000-15000 every few seconds...

if its barely changing that is more of a rough idle issue
