blew up my t25 the other day pulled it put in a used 14b turbine had no shaft play and the turbines on bothe sides was perfect. Hooked everything up took it for a drive ...super slow. ONly ran 8 lbs. So I tightened up the bov...8psi real slow spool...unplugged the wastegate! ran around 11 psi with tight bov. now dont those max around 18 psi?? So I performed a boost leak test from the compressor inlet and ic inlet checked the wastegate for leaks and wastegate arm.....perfect.....wtf my t25 ran 12 psi and spooled in about 2 secs at 3000 rpm from dead stop.... i dunno if its supposed to be like this but this turbo is slow as balls....someone help!

You hooked the turbo up to the stock Boost Control Solenoid, didn't you? :)

Same thing happened to me before I got a manual boost controller. The stock BCS will keep boost at about 7-8 psi on a 14b, as opposed to the 12psi on a T25. However, the 14b isn't totally in its efficiency range at that low of boost. Get a manual boost controller and turn it up to about 14-15 and see the difference.

Hi. I had a problem like this when I put a 14b on my car a while back. I had no boost leaks and my car would only run about 7 psi even with the wastegate actuator disconnected. The problem was that the exhaust housing wasnt properly clamped onto the center section of the turbo. Because of that stupid mistake on my part, I had a bad exhaust leak that prevented the turbo from spooling like it should. You could also have a wastegate flapper that is partially stuck open. I DO NOT think its caused by the use of the stock boost solenoid. If anything it should run a 1-2 psi higher than stock when you use the stock solenoid with a 14b.

Welp its runnin better I took it for a drive for about 50 miles n by the end of the trip I was hitten 9 psi easy 10 psi wot and 12 psi spike. Added the mbc and could get ne psi I want. So I guess case closed Im guess there was oil n stuff froim the bad turbo in the intercooler and its startin to blow it out, Im puttin a body kit on today so Ill have the front bumper off, Ill see if I cant clean out the ic a lil bit, thanks for your input guys peace ooouuutt.
