I have been desperately trying to find some sort of "requirement page" to inform me when it is appropriate to switch to the NGK 7 plugs. I currently have the NGK 6's in my ride...but have the 7's sittin in the closet. I am not in a hurry to put them in, but I am extremely curious on what the "pre-requisites" are for me to switch in the 7's. Thanks a lot fellas. Peace.

The 7s are a step colder you need them when you start running higher boost, i switched to those when i started running about 18 psi.

It's pretty much when you upgrade your fuel system, which will allow you to run more boost. Just as Amazin'Wasian said.

good point you guys bring up...i have been reading alot on here lately in an effort to better get an understanding of my ride...with that said....i have seen the majority of people boosting right around 15psi with the t25 and a few supporting mods without touching their fuel yet...is this accurate? i will be installing my MBC soon as well as the plugs, wires, boost gauge, and HKS SSBOV recirculation kit.....should i stick right around 15psi or toy with it for a little.

Chad.

its said that a t25 can perform up to 18psi. but i woudlnt recomend it. you will prob see a lot of knock and it wont perform like you want it to. id stay around 15psi

Well if i was you i wouldnt turn the boost up anymore than 15 psi without proper fuel mods and a datalogger to you can watch for knock, or you could end up with a melted piston like me...:toobad:
and the little t-25 is capable of more than 18 psi...my buddy runs his at 20 psi every weekend, im not saying i recomend it tho.

$140 WTF Do it yourself. Install the boost gauge first, then the MBC then the A/F gauge. Check the tech guide for articles to do all of it and if you have issues start a new thread. Everyone here (well almost everyone) will help you if you have a problem. :thumb: And if time is money, why do you have a DSM? ;) :p

For the boost gauge, all you need is 5$ and a knife.

Open your hood, find a vac line, cut it, put in a tee, put some hose on the tee, and plug the hose into the gauge. Tada.

Dont know about the others, gotta search for those :)

The manual Boost controller is the easy one. Theres a how to on www.Vfaq.com, and as for the A/F gauge thats just three wires to splice off of the ECU. Ill get your links.

Nahh Vfaq.come doesnt link out . Just go under DSM modification site and then under gauges....and then search the turbo or other sections for the MBC install and if you do throw the plugs in....Make sure you gap them to .28 good luck.
