Is there any adverse effects of not fixing hte EGR. i run dsmlink and can put it on the ignore list but i don't know if it'll have nay adverse effects.

It does not have any affects to the car besides mmaking the intake manifold dirty and sluggy you also use potential HP with taht so i recommend blocking it and getting carb/throttle body cleaner and once its blocked clean the hell out of your throttle body and inside the intake manifold as much as possible

There's alot of discussion already discussing the blocked or unblocked theories of an EGR system so I won't go in to that since it will surely lead to someone posting a bunch of links and locking the thread.

BUT if you are asking about an EGR failure code, leaving it unblocked and continuing to run it then YES you may develope drivability problems. These include rough idles, stalling out, idle surge and surges at highway speeds. I'm less familiar with the knock issues on the 4g63 cars but I'm sure it will cause some tuning issues if the EGR system is operated in a manor that the ECU does not want it to.

If you are having an EGR solenoid circuit problem then you MAY be ok to just ignore it. If you have an EGR Performance issue then I highly recomend fixing the issue or blocking the valve. We have addressed numerous issues on the Mitsu 2.5L v6 in chrysler products causing no starts or start and stalls quite a bit. You can also have a car that will not stay running at idle but will run fine once you're actually able to get it on the road.

I don't recomend neglecting this situation or turning a blind eye to it as it is sure to cause you problems.
