I have a 1993 Talon 2.0 N/T and the 7 bolt motor that was in it spun two rod bearings and I had a spare 6 bolt N/T motor complete that had bent valves from a 91 eclipse. The 7 bolt motor had a reman head on it so i pulled that head off of that motor and put it on the 6 bolt. I have the motor in and everything ready and I start it and it runs like crap. It has good spark and it seems like it is getting too much fuel and flooding, I cant rev past two grand. I checked timing time and time again and i have checked the firing order and everything is right. Are the injectors different or something where I am getting too much fuel? Please someone help me out, I need to get this car back on the road.

A couple of things. Air flow sensor connector? Possibly the engine coolant temp sensor? If you have a check engine light, I would have Auto Zone scan it if you can get it there. If you have a datalogger I would see what the codes are. the injectors should be the same. N/t to N/t and all. Check your diaphragm in your fuel pressure regulator. If you didn't re-use the one on the "running" engine you may have a ruptured diaphragm. Pull your vacuum line and see if gasoline comes out the vacuum port. If you changed injectors, change back to whatever was running as you could have a stuck injector. Are all the cylinders showing flooding or is it less than 4? Use as much of what you knew to be good components.

Let us know.

Good LUck
