Tecumseh,
I wanted to find out whether the 14b that I am going to put in my car is alright as I know the seals in my current one are shot, the one I have in the garage is off a parts car i bought awhile back but should I be able to turn the blades by hand on the inlet side of the turbo or outlet for that matter. When I spin them by hand they don't move does this mean the turbo is no good or is this normal? any help is appreciated thanks

The wheels should spin freely. If it doesn't, it's likely that the shaft has siezed due to contamination (rust, oil cocking). I stored my 14B for several years before selling it but kept the CHRA's oil housing full of oil and had plugged the inlet/outlet to keep moisture out and the oil in.

Storing a turbo "dry" is not a good idea :dsm:
