blown engine; No $ what to get

I was driving 110km. i will admit i was a little low on oil and down shifted and blew 3 holes in engine block, found part of connecting rod on highway. I need to know what engine is compatible for more performance and not too expensive. i can get a 96 talon esi for 2500$, 180 comp test and 118000 km on used engine. and charge me 500 to install. is that a good deal. this is in canada eh.

3K Canadian sounds right for a good engine. The engines that will work in your car are 95-97 Talon Esi and 95-99 Eclipse GS or RS

try www.ardperformance.com and go to JDM engines. You can probably snug a 4g63 cyclone in there from them, but I'm not sure on the differences on the engine. You should do some research on that, cause if you're short on cash, their cyclone 'engine only' is 1600 bucks plus shipping
