I just got my car back from getting a 6bolt in for my blown 7bolt that spun a rod. I got the car boost leak tested and then dyno'd after the swap was done(it was a used motor). I got 275whp at 16psi of boost and i didn't know why they would tune it at 16psi because last time i got it tuned they tuned it to 21psi so w.e i was driving home and when i hit 16psi at 6000rpm's the car felt like it hit fuel cut i jerked hard and then kept accelerating. I turned up the boost and it does this cutting out even more offen and i don't understand what the problem could be. I have 660's and a 255lph pump with a regulator and a td05h 20g. I could only call the shop because i had to go back to college but they said my alternator was crapping out so i installed a new one and same problem. I also noticed that my s-afc corrections were very weird for having 660's...2krpms the correction was like -2% and it gradually got less to 6krpms at -8% but i thought the corrections would be much lower. They supposedly checked for boost leaks and thats the only thing i could think of. Any ideas?

Whoa...you are PIG RICH. You should start the corrections at about -15 and work from there. If you have a FP gauge I would check that and make sure you are around 41-42lbs. If you are then -15 is a good starting point.

If you do not have a FP gauge, I would start a little lower say around -10 and work from there.

Also, you are running good fuel right? Say 93 or 94 octane?

Yea i have a fuel pressure gauge and it is alittle less than 40 with the line on and thats what i thought when i saw the afc but they said thats what the sniffer and computer told them thats where it should be. I have a logger and i just checked my check engine light that came on one time the car cut out and it shows an error of "Turbocharger waste gate". I know what the wastegate is but how in the world would the logger know thats the problem because it doesn't have any electrials hooked up to it. Any idea how the wastegate would cause this problem or how it knows thats the problem or how to fix it???

The reason you are seeing this on the logger is because of the code the ECU is reading. The boost solenoid on the 2gs still needs to be plugged in electrically but not with vacuum. This is how I believe you are getting this code. This could put the car into "safe mode" and pulling timing. :notgood:

Alright i have a 2g with a 6bolt in it so where is the wastegate solenoid. In the mean time i cleared the code and drove it to see if it will do it if the ecu is not in a loop and the car still cutt out with out throwing a code. I made a log of a run where it cut out twice in a third gear pull and i will try to put it up but i really don't know how.

The solenoid is underneath the air filter on the frame rail. Have you tried leaning it out yet? Also please post up your logs so I can take a look at them. :thumb:

My Brother just got his 95 gst back from gettin a 6 bolt swap and his car is miss firing. So our mechanic, which is John Shepard's cousin, Told us that the ECU does not like the signal sent frome the cam angle sensor and he needed a ECU from a 98 or newer. so we switched his ECU with the one out of my totaled 98 TSi AWD and the car runs great now.
