New injectors, slight problem.

So I installed some 680s in my car today. I made sure everything was in the right spot, the seals, restrictors.. Everything is secure. But when I get on the gas at around 5500rpm the car starts bogging. It's not a slow bogging, but a really fast paced gurgling bogging. Heh. Anyone have any idea? I tried messing with my SAFC2 but it remained the same. I am now trying to reset the ECU to see if that'll do anything. It also bogs when I rev it up during idle, but only at high rpms.

Please help!

I didn't see a logger in your profile? How are you tuning the safc?

I have to borrow a friend's logger. I tried different settings with my S-AFC2 but it does the same thing no matter what. I've tried it at +5, -5, +20, -20 ..

I hope you have a logger

Are you sure you are not dumping too much fuel? I had 680's and leaned it out slowly and I tuned out the ''helicopter sputter''.

How much did you lean it to about on the AFC?

Your deffinately running extremely rich. I recomend you go out buy a new set of plugs, borrow your friends logger, and then drive the car until then don't drive the car as you don't know what they hell is going on with it. You might be able to find some base tune safc numbers on this site. They have a huge thread on here that had some base numbers for certain size injectors, but I really don't recomend going off just those numbers you really need to get that logger from your friend and actually tune the car.

Alright, thanks. I get everything in your post except about buying new injectors.

Here's that thread I was talking about http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15097&highlight=safc+base+tuning. And sorry I meant PLUGS not injectors.

Oh, I gotcha now. I got some NGK plugs/wires not too long ago. And they were fine before I put the new injectors in.

I read that thread and it says I should be around -36%, I have it at -15% at the moment.. Now, I know this isn't accurate but I have to drive my car to work tomorrow. And not being able to gas it above 4k rpms is no good.

Well if most people in that thread are recomending that you go to -36 would it really be that hard to go from your car right now and change the setting from -15 to -36???? Hell maybe even -30 if you feel -36 is too lean??? Here is another link from RRE where they tell you there method of getting a good low throttle tune.http://www.roadraceengineering.com/newafc.htm

Seeing how I JUST found it I'm about to go out and give it a shot. I didn't want to go that much at first because I wasn't sure if I'd mess anything up.

I really don't feel comfortable watching you play with the safc without a logger even with the thread Zach posted because every car is different. Do what you want as it's your car but I strongly suggest putting back the 450s until you have logging capability.

Unfortunately the majority won't listen and that's why we have threads titled "blew up my motor for no reason I hate dsms."

At least we did our part, the rest is up to him. :)

The AFC doesn't like big injectors specially over 650cc. The car starts to really advance timing because it thinks there is barely any air rushing in, so the computer thinks its safe to add timing. Once you start going over -20, your car will really start to advance timing. So I recommend getting a logger.
Why would you +5 or +20 with those size of injectors? You always minus when putting in bigger injectors or you run pig or undrivable rich.
