after starting the engine, I sometimes hear some strange water noise coming from my air vents when i apply pressure to the gas pedal. the noise seems to be correlated with the rpm. it's similar to turning on the water faucet and hearing the water fall or something. what could this be? only happens when i first start the engine but goes away after i take off. seem to notice it more during the mornings and nights than during the day time. it's a 96 eclipse rs automatic.

is this something i should be worried about? i've never heard the noise before until recently.

Just make sure your coolant levels are full, both the radiator and the over-flow bottle. I hear this noise too, and most of the time, I find the radiator a little low.

Could also be due to a air bubble trapped in your heater core. They are sometimes difficult to get out, and can cause a car to overheat or not cool properly. As long as the car is running fine and your coolant is full don't worry about it. But if you start having problems, have a shop drain your coolant and vacuum fill it.
