I have a 1990 laser RS turbo that i got a new turbo for and but another cam in the engine because the other cam has a chunk missing out of the lobe and the guy i bought it from just to the rocker out. So i got the car all back together and drove it, it was boosting fine and driving fine. On the way back home the engine just stopped and reved down then stalled. I towed it home and saw it was getting fuel but the plugs have gas on them there was spark but it looked kinda weak then i took the plugs out and cranked the engine to see if there was compression, it dosent feel like very much air is pushing on my hand how much would you feel without a compression tester anyways does anyone have an idea if its my compression or my coil or what, i could really use the help.

Yep. The timing belt let go on you. Pull the top timing cover off and have someone bump the starter and see if the cam gears are moving or not.

If not...your most likely in for some head work. :talon:

timing belt is good the cams are moving and so are the drive belts everything looks fine what where you saying about having my head worked on what can go wrong to make it do that

Bah, it's not a donut. You can't just give it a glance. Are the timing marks lined up? Your cams might be moving...moving your valves right into your pistons. Do a compression test. Check your oil for coolant and coolant for oil, could be HG I suppose.

so is it possible to loose compression that quick because im leaning towards somthing wrong with my spark not beinging strong enough

i think there was oil in my coolant before i replace that stuff but i already figured it needed a new head gasket would that make it not run

Best thing to do in this situation is to stop talking about it and just start checking things off. I'd suggest a compression test. You can check out a whole bunch of stuff, but if your compression is 30 in one cylinder you aren't going anywhere no matter what else you fix.

And by what you said, I think you know you are pulling the head anyways.

Compression test. Do it.

I went to pick up my playcheck and on my way back home....the car turned off on me...and i turned it back on...and it turnd off and it just shut down on me....i tryed to start it it would crank up but it wouldnt start...i thought it was the battery but tha battery was fine after i got the jumper cables and call my friend...i didnt hear any noises it just shut down.....than i took the timing belt cover off and the cams arent moving when i try to turn it on...so please someone help me i got my car in my back yard and i want to know wat u guys think is wrong wit it....thnx dsmers:dsm: :dsm: I GOT a 1992 GSX
