i put gas in my car and as im leaving i notice in one of the windows it looks like my headlights are blinking. im driving down the road and people start moving out of my way so i know there blinking. i did nothing to the car with wiring or alarms, ect. this was just completely random it seems. so i pull in my garage and sure enough there blinking. i can get them to stop. i checked the fuses and all were good. as im messing around with they fuses they suddenly turn off. so i figured loose fuse. i open the door and they start blinking again. no horn just blinking low beams. then i turn the headlights on i hear the relay clicking then turn them off and they still blink. i turn on the high beams and the high beam light on the dash blinks sequentially with the headlights relay clicking. so i turn off/on a few times and turn the headlights off/on then they suddenly go off. so i figure maybe its like an alarm code to turn them off. well i open the door they stayed off then when i shut it again they blinking agian. so i leave them and after about 5 min they will shut themselves off. im not sure where to begin diagnoising. if anyone can help please respond as this is my daily driver.
ps- the headlights do not blink when opening the hood or passenger door. the only thing i have is the driver door panel is off as are the switchs but they would have no connection to the headlights. this is NOT the hazards as they work fine.

Your factory alarm is screwed up, probably from a bad switch on the hood, hatch or door. Look up under the driver's footwell. There is a small relay you can pull which will disable the alarm system.

interesting, that does seem like a possibility since it did it after i got in at the gas station. i figured it was alarm related but the previous owner said he took out the factory one since it wasnt working correctly for him to.

Ah. More of the story bubbles up out of the swamp.

do you know where i can find a pic of this relay. there is once connector already disconnected but ovbiously i would like to see what that goes to also.

ok so i did alot of looking at the car yesterday, i found out the horn has been disconnected- i would think because of the alarm system problems. i then when ahead and pulled the alarm fuse my the driver dead pedal/foot rest. well now it is still going off. where is the alarm relay box? attached to center console? any one have a pic or know where i can find one?
