I read a couple post about this but none of them really got what was looking for.
'95 talon.
In the winter my doors will freeze close. No big deal, I can just put some lubricant on the seals.
The other thing that happens, though, is the window will freeze to the seal.
Mainly at the seal that goes into the door. The problem this creates is that when I go to shut my door, the window is stuck to that seal and the door won't close because the window hits the rubber covered metal strip across the top of the door opening. From what I can tell, in normal weather, the window "falls" in a little allowing it to get under that strip and then when the door is closed it pushes back out to seal, but when it freezes to the seal it can't fall away. I read some people talking about lubricating the track and such to keep them from freezing but that isn't really my problem, if I grease that seal it will smear grease up and down my window when I roll it up and down. Perhaps my window/door is adjusted wrong? Today I tried rolling down the window a fraction of an inch to see if that helps.
Thanks.
