Doing sixty nearly standing still help?

well all recently i have been having a problem with my speedometer before it used to work off and on now all it does when i start going forward is move straight up to sixty when i come to a stop it drops back to zero but the second i move again its jumps straight to sixty i am not sure if my sensor is bad or if its something else. i cannot find on my tranny i was told it was on the top and some say it is on the bottom side but i don't know for sure can anyone please help me out This is a 95 GSX by the way

It sounds like your speed sensor might be loose. I had the same problem on my 95 gst. If the gsx and gst transmissions are similar, look for the speed sensor to the left of the engine kinda under the battery. If you have a chilton's or haynes it has a picture of where it is. Or just search on this site. But mine was just loose. I plugged it back in a voila, accurate speedo again.
